The chimes are far too SOFT and cannot be heard beyond the room. A big disappointment for such an elegant-looking and regal-sounding clock. Help. --Al
Moderator's Note: Al, you bring up a common question that hopefully others can benefit from. According to Howard Miller, this clock allows you to adjust the chime volume. The HAMMERS that strike the chimes are made of soft brass that can be bent closer to the chime. Not too close or it will thud. This is normally done during setup. Try this Al and you should be good to go!
